TOWNHALL Mrs. Pope reported that they received a letter from Architect, Steve Ciciretto stating that upon review of the bids received for the enclosed walkway, he recommends that the township accept the combination bid for all services from the lowest qualified bidder, Swauger Building Company in the amount of $15,292.00. RESOLUTION 2008-128: made by Nadine Pope, seconded by Keith McClintock to award the enclosed walkway contract to Swauger Building Co. upon recommendation of Architect, Steve Ciciretto. Upon call of roll: Mr. McClintock - yes, Mrs. Pope - yes and Mr. Kaminski - yes. Motion carried. The original estimate was $20,000 - $21,000. Mr. Ciciretto will provide the contract to Assistant Prosecutor, Sheila Salem for approval.
SAFETY Mrs. Pope reported that Thursday, November 13th she attended the Geauga Safety Council training at the Middlefield Fire Department along with Mrs. Dottore and Mrs. Welch. The topic was Workplace Violence and Workplace Security. It was very informative.
PARK Mr. McClintock reported the he received the title paperwork for the purchase of 10 acres of land adjacent to the Hambden Township Park. All motions have been made at prior meetings. The paperwork needs the notarized signatures of the trustees and he will deliver them to the title company tomorrow.
Mrs. Chorman reported that she has not received the credit on the Waste Management bill for fall trash day as promised by Tony Discenza. Mrs. Chorman will continue to hold the payment of the invoice until the credit is received. At this point her trash day comparison report is showing a cost to the township of $127.00, but she has not yet received the bill for the electronics.
CEMETERY Mrs. Chorman presented to the board for approval and signature the deed for Deena Harper's purchase of 1 grave, for the cremated remains of her uncle in the Hambden cemetery. The burial of the ashes is scheduled for Friday, November 28th.
MISCELLANEOUS Mrs. Chorman asked the board if they would like to renew the membership to the Geauga Safety Council. Mrs. Pope and Mrs. Chorman attend the monthly meetings on the first Friday of each month. The speakers are very informative and the township receives 4% back on Workers Compensation if a certain amount of meetings are attended.
