Hambden Township

The Hambden Road Department consists of 2 full time employees responsible for maintaining 25.53 miles of Township roads. Part-time winter help is hired to assist in the plowing of snow. During the summer months four part-time employees assist the road crew with mowing, trimming and general upkeep of the Hambden Park, Hambden Cemetery, Sisson Road Cemetery,roadside mowing and the town hall grounds. These employees are also used in traffic control while doing road repairs.

 

The Hambden Road Department responsibilities include: road repair and maintenance, road side trash removal, ditch cleaning, mowing, snow plowing, upkeep of the park and two cemeteries. They do repairs and maintenance of the town hall buildings and grounds. When possible, the road personel repair and service the trucks and equipment saving the taxpayers the cost of taking the equipment to an outside source.

 

FULL-TIME PERMANENT ROAD WORKER

 

The Hambden Township Trustees are seeking a road worker.

This is a full-time permanent position that reports to the Road Superintendent.

Candidate must possess a current Class A, commercial driver’s license (CDL).

Good driving record.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must have the ability to operate equipment such as backhoe, mini-excavator, roller, mowers, tractrors, etc.

Manual Labor is part of the job as is working in all types of weather.

Must be willing to work odd hours if needed plowing roads.

Experience plowing snow is a plus.

Mechanical experience and/or light construction a plus.

Random drug screens are mandatory.
