The Hambden Road Department consists of 2 full time employees responsible for maintaining 25.53 miles of Township roads. Part-time winter help is hired to assist in the plowing of snow. During the summer months four part-time employees assist the road crew with mowing, trimming and general upkeep of the Hambden Park, Hambden Cemetery, Sisson Road Cemetery, roadside mowing and the town hall grounds. These employees are also used in traffic control while doing road repairs.

The Hambden Road Department responsibilities include: road repair and maintenance, road side trash removal, ditch cleaning, mowing, snow plowing, upkeep of the park and two cemeteries. They do repairs and maintenance of the town hall buildings and grounds. When possible, the road personel repair and service the trucks and equipment saving the taxpayers the cost of taking the equipment to an outside source.

RIP Dale Smith

Dale Smith passed away unexpectantly on February 16th.

Dale worked for the township as a winter seasonal employee since November, 2007. He was also a Hambden Fire Fighter for many years.

Dale always had a smile on his face and kind words to say. He would help out whenever he could.

Dale will be greatly missed. Our deepest sympathy to his wife Deb & family.
